DECEMBER 16 , 2022 | EASTERN PILOT

By: Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu— the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) |

Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu— the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has expressed worry about his well-being in the detention facility of the Department of State Services, stating that the self-determination activist is starving. Ejimakor who disclosed this after a visit to the IPOB leader on Thursday, said the DSS explained that they have no money to buy his food.

According to the lawyer, Mr. Kanu has not also been given drugs for the past nine (9)days. In a tweet, Ejimakor said “Today, I visited MNK in company of Prince Emma Kanu & Barr. Nnaemeka Ejiofor. “He instructed me to make it public that he has not been given his drugs for the past 9 days & he has not eaten today because DSS says that they don’t have money to buy his food. Sad.”

Nnamdi Kanu's brother, Prince Emmanuel Okwu-Kanu who also confirmed the report, said: “I Paid a visit to Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu today, in the company of Barr Nnaemeka Ejiofor and Barr Aloy Ejimakor. “MNK stated categorically that the DSS officials have denied him his medications for 9 days and counting, and also denied him decent meals for days running, giving financial constraints as an excuse.

“To that effect, He has mandated SAN Mike Ozekhome to provide the DSS with the sum of one million naira for his feeding and upkeep. “With a smile on his face, however, he didn’t fail to mention he is praying for Biafrans all over the world, enjoining everyone to stay courageous and be of good faith. “MNK said every vital information would be communicated through the DOS and Barr Nnaemeke Ejimakor”.

Recall that a Federal high court sitting in Abuja had on October 13, 2022 discharged and acquitted Nnamdi Kanu of all charges and granted all the relief sought by Kanu in a self determination suit against the Nigerian government. Till date, the Nigeria government continued to hold him illegally in a solitary confinement at the State Security Service(SSS) known as DSS; disobeying all the court orders with flagrant impunity.
