Yesterday, I filed Suit against Ahmed Abubakar, the DG of National Intelligence Agency (NIA) for his 8 days ‘false imprisonment’ of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Kenya. Recall that the Federal High Court in Umuahia, Abia State, has ruled that the extraordinary rendition of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, was against his fundamental rights.
The court gave the judgment while ordering that Kanu be restored to the state he was in before he was arrested and subjected to extraordinary rendition in June 2021 and also ordered the government to pay Kanu, N500m as damages following his illegal abduction and human rights abuse but the Nigeria government is yet to obey the court order.
