JULY 21 , 2022 | EASTERN PILOT
Report By : Seun Opejobi |
Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has reacted to the alleged massacre of seven youth by operatives of the Ebubeagu Security outfit in Imo State. Ejimakor said such massacres were due to the lack of Igbos in the security formations in the South-East. Operatives of the Ebubeagu security outfit were said to have killed seven youths in Utulu, Oru Local Government Area of Imo State. The victims were killed while they were returning from a wedding in Awomamma.
Reacting, Ejimakor tweeted: “Massacres won’t happen if there’s no premeditation, driven by sectarian impulses & lack of compatriot empathy exhibited by some security personnel, notwithstanding that the targets/victims are unarmed & amenable to simple arrest. Southeast leaders can fix this. But will they? “Igbos being absent from security formations in SE is why each time the witch cries at night in SE & the baby dies in the morning. The ‘security report’ always says it’s not the witch that killed the baby. In other words, the victims of the massacre become villains. #Awomamma.
“They’re IPOB members has been the constant official justification each time these #Massacres in SE happen. If latching on IPOB is intended to paint the hapless victims as unworthy of Igbo outrage, it won’t work because, IPOB or not, they’re still Igbos & IPOB is not unworthy.”
