Shehu Sani, former Kaduna State lawmaker has alleged that some bandits on Sunday blocked the Kaduna-Abuja road and kidnapped scores of persons. Sani raised the alarm in a post on his official Twitter page even as he urged northern governors to prioritize insecurity situation in the region. The former lawmaker further called for the need of deactivation of “Operation Puff Adder” to protect citizens.
His tweet read:
Today,the Bandits along kaduna Abuja audaciously blocked the road in broad daylight and kidnapped scores of people,including a young man I know.Operation Puff Adder needs reactivation.This is where the attention of the Northern Governors is needed.

He went further to suggest a community policing as a solution to curbing the worsening insecurity in the area. He tweeted:
Solution to the Kaduna Abuja Road Kidnaping:There are about 37 villages along the road.The Youths of those villages should be recruited into the Police and Civil Defence and redeployed to their villages to protect the road and combat the kidnappers.They know the terrain better.

Nine students from the Department of French,Faculty of Arts Ahmadu Bello University who were kidnapped along Kaduna Abuja road yesterday are still with their abductors.They were reportedly heading to Badagry,Lagos for an exchange program.Lets pray for them.
